I’m retiring from the day job.
Not from building.
Forty years as a field engineer. Now I run a personal AI lab — two local inference servers, cloud models on tap, and a fleet of agents doing the grunt work.
I built my own platform to ship on, and I use it to turn ideas into live software the same week I think of them. The interesting part isn't the code anymore — the agents handle a lot of that. The bottleneck moved to taste, judgment, and follow-through.
That's the whole experiment: how much one experienced builder can produce with the right AI leverage and a workshop he owns end to end.
